Euromark's 'Simply Black And White' calendar is a photographic calendar designed by Giacomo Stecca, featuring a black and white portrait.
He believes that colour can be too real, that it leaves no room for the imagination, and that it can even be an imitation of reality. Black and white, on the other hand, is more evocative, precisely because it removes a visual reference point. Shapes appear more pronounced thanks to the chiaroscuro transitions created by the grey tones. In this case, the words of the Canadian photographer Ted Grant are apt: "If you take a photograph of people in colour, you take a photograph of their clothes. But when you photograph people in black and white, you photograph their souls".
This project was launched in 2017 and, due to its success, continued in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.
All proceeds from the calendar will go to the Giorgia Libero Onlus Association, founded in September 2016 in memory of Giorgia, a young girl from Padua who fought the non-Hodgkin's lymphoma disease with tenacity, hope and positivity. The aim of the non-profit organisation is the in-depth and attentive identification of valid and innovative research projects focused on the treatment of lymphomas that will be supported through charitable initiatives and donations.
The calendar will be presented every year in December, the month which is also Giorgia's birthday.
